Together for Mental Health

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. On Saturday, May 25, Woolwich Counselling Centre is hosting ‘Together for Mental Health’ – a free community event to engage in open and positive conversation about mental well-being. No registration is needed.

The event will be held at Elmira District Secondary School (EDSS) (4 University Ave. E, Elmira ON N3B 1K2) from 12-4 pm.

The event aims to bring together the Woolwich and Wellesley Township communities in a show of solidarity and support for mental health. It aims to involve everyone—kids, youth, adults, seniors, local businesses, and other community organizations—to show that we are in this together, that we can and should support one another and that mental health matters.

Special guest speakers include Hayley Wickenheiser (Olympic gold medalist, member of the Hockey Hall of Fame, physician, Senior Director of Player Development for the Toronto Maple Leafs) and Corey Hirsch (NHL Goaltender and Olympic silver medalist, Speaker and Advocate for Mental Health and Wellness, Author).

Music performance is by Bradley Hale.

This will be an engaging and activity-filled event for the young and the old. The event will include a speaker component and an activity component. During the speaker component, there will be two engaging presentations and time for Q&A. In the second part, there will be a fair-like atmosphere with booths and activities, and opportunities to engage and meet with celebrities (speakers as well as local celebrities).

Thank you to all our business sponsors and individual donors without whose support this event would not be possible!
