Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion

Woolwich Counselling Centre is committed to treating all employees, volunteers, interns, and clients with respect and inclusivity.

Commitment to Clients

Woolwich Counselling Centre respects all communities and does not discriminate based on race, age, gender, religion, height, weight, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, place of origin, socio-economic status, political beliefs, other ideologies or marital status. Whenever possible, clients will have communication in their own language and culture via access to therapists, extended family members, and/or research made by the therapist. When Woolwich Counselling Centre is not able to accommodate clients based on their needs (whether cultural, accessibility, etc.) to the best of our ability, a commitment will be made to refer the client to another service that will better suit their needs.

We will attempt to provide resources and material that are reflective of the ethnic, cultural, and spiritual traditions of the persons served.

Commitment to Employees

We are an equal opportunity employer. The organization makes every effort to employ diverse individuals that reflect the community and the population served. Hiring and human resources practices do not discriminate with regard to race, colour, religion, disability, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, age, national origin or any other area specified under the Ontario Human Rights Code. Materials produced by the organization will use inclusive language and will be gender neutral.

Monitoring

Woolwich Counselling Centre will have zero tolerance for any forms of racism, hate, bigotry, and discrimination by or from all staff and clientele. We are committed to creating a protected space for all staff and clients. To report an incident or concern, please email feedback@woolwichcounselling.org.
